Custom Package Tray

Some of y'all might get a kick out of this.
Faced with the conundrum of what to do about my sound system I got some inspiration from the guys at the-shop-llc. I was never very happy with 6x9's sticking out of the package tray, plus my sound deadening plan isolates the trunk which isn't great for a normal trunk sub.
The solution is simple! Make a custom package tray and mount the sub to the bottom of the package tray!

The package tray is a base of 1/8" masonite with a 5/8" MDF border. I trimmed it in vinyl from Legendary that matches the seat covers. Just left extra around the edges - the front edge goes under the seat back, back edge rolls under the body lip. Then made a large speaker grill insert to hide the speakers.
The sub is a 10" mounted vertically firing straight into the cabin from a sealed box. It's spaced down about 1.5" so there's some transition space from the driver to the actual hole in the package tray (can't get the full driver size, even with a 10"). That also gave a convenient place to hang the amp.

Amazingly there's only about 8 hours invested in all this.

As always, pictures are worth a thousand words.

Is the battery and disconnect in the trunk to deter theft?

I added a disconnect because the car has sat for months at a time during this 8 year journey. I did a trunk relocation for zoom factor. And it frees up a bit of space in the engine bay for cold air ducts and a fuse panel. I also have jump posts at the trunk lip so charging and jumping doesn't require crawling into the trunk.
