Remove Seat Belts through Front '70 Front Bench Seat?

What am I missing here? Do I need to remove the seat belt bolt from the floor? I tried pushing the seat belts through the white plastic insert in the seat bottom, but female end didn't want to go through. I don't want to crack the plastic bezel piece within the seat so I stopped pushing / pulling. Is there a better way to do this?

I think you'll find that the small metal tab at the floor passes through the plastic bezel much more easily than does the large buckle. Just unbolt them.

Thanks, Joe. Figured that would be the best solution.
