window fuzzies
What is you guy's opinions on reproduction window fuzzies both inside and out for 70-72 A-body cars? Are some manufacturers better than others or are they all the same?
How does reproduction compare to OEM? fit, finish etc...

I just bought a 'vert set of inners and outers for my 70 GS. There are differences, and sometimes even the prices don't matter. In other words, you can pay big bucks like from Steele, but I don't even think they make them, they buy them, they mark them up. The first difference is the bead, flat or round. You want round, there's only a tiny difference in cost. Companies like Repops make more than one quality set. The second thing is how you mount them, screws, rivets, staples? How fussy are you? Outers were originally held by screws, and inners by staples. The set I bought are Repops, I paid like 110.00 shipped from Tamraz. Typically, they may sell for about 139.00 + SH. Before there was a company called TWE Ted Williams Enterprises), but now I think TWE and Repops are the same. They are USA made. The outers use screws, the inners use staples, and they were included. The look when installed is mosly like original. I think they are lifetime guaranteed. The fit is ok. I can't speak for the fit of every piece, because I only really needed the 2 rear inners. Sometimes on a 'vert you need to back cut the outers. The rubber and felts look about like original. The bead seems to be a bit larger. What I don't like is at the end of the bead, it's just like cut off. At the ends of the fronts near the latch, they are not bent like originals. I have heard some are bent. The other company I know of is PUI. I ordered a set of PUI, but I don't have them yet to compare. I think PUI's use screws in and out. I think those are the only 2 companies making them. Companies like Hydro-Electric sells them, for 200.00 plus and it's all mark up. As with everything repro, if you are super fussy, NOS is the way to go. They are still out there. I actually have a set, but I can't bring myself to use them, nor can I convince myself to sell them. It's the hoarders lament. I'm interested to hear others opinions on these things myself, too.
