Thermal Insulation

I know this has been talked about plenty but alot of posts were people still building and not driving their cars. I'm going to be installing new carpet in the 66. I was to make it like a new car inside. When I last drove the 71 my were roasting and it didn't have headers. So whats the stuff everyone is recommending for thermal Insulation under the carpet? I have some butyl sound deadener to install first. Then plan on insulation, probably some MLV and then the carpet with jute padding from ACC..I'm not sure if I bought mass backed or not it's been so long. I know I don't want the bubble wrap tin foil stuff. But there is similar that has foam in it for reasonable.. I've also found single & double sided foil cover jute. Let me know guys

I have a 55' Super 88 that I finished in 2018. I'm partial to the dynamat. I bought the original Daytona weave carpet also from ACC with the I'm assuming is the jute backing. Looked about 1/2 " thick almost like insulation. The car is cooler and quieter. Just what worked for me good luck with whatever way you choose.

I was going to use the stock "tar paper" and carpet, but seemed inadequate. So I used duramat sound deadener, cover that with reflexit, the oem deadener, then carpet. I think there was also a stock pad on the firewall. Works great.
