There has to be an easier way !

I Have a loose fender Cutlass S emblem on my 69's passenger side. Having big hands seems to present a problem. Tried to reach via the door/ fender opening with the door open. Thinking that the only way to get to it is from the bottom by loosening the inner wheel well at the bottom of the fender. Am I on the right track or is there an easier approach?

Now you're just bragging...

The emblem nuts are very close to the side of the cowl, so even small hands would be a problem. At a minimum you will need to unbolt the bottom of the fender. There are also fasteners that hold the bottom of the inner fender to the frame, so those need to come out also. Use tape to protect the paint on the door. You may even need to loosen the top bolts where the fender attaches to the cowl. Simply removing the inner fender is not likely to provide enough clearance due to the proximity of the inner cowl.

If there is ANY rust, don't be surprised if the clip nuts that the bottom fender bolts thread into break loose and spin.

Thanks Joe,

Reminds me of the replacement of the tail light replacement on my 65 Caddy when I was a kid ! Design flaws. I guess we all learn from our errors eventually.
