Swivels

Tried installing one of the swivel buckets into the passenger side this weekend. Couldn’t use the slide rails they came on. Modified the slide rails from the seat that was in it and installed it on that. Sits way too high. But I also figured out these have no recline adjustment. Hadn’t really thought about it before. They’re not going to work for what I’m working towards. Next weekend I’ll put the originals back in for now and put these back on their slides.

Those swivel buckets look nice! Recline would be a nice feature. IDK when recline became a standard feature on most cars, but 70s and newer water cooled VWs had them and for a high school lad they worked out great !

I blame reclining seats for the demise of the Van Scene. Although a rolling bedroom is the best for that sort of thing, a recliner is not bad.

The main thing with recline is head room. If you recline that seat back a notch or two it makes a huge difference in head room. We have a friend that’s 6’7” and needs all the help he can get in that department.
