Sticky Dash?

When I purchased my 76 Cutlass last year, it was in near perfect shape. The interior is flawless, but the top of the dash is sticky. The outside edges near the speaker grills are fine, but everything in between is sticky to the touch. I'm afraid to take any cleaner to it, as I don't want to tarnish the surface. Has anyone had any experience with this. If so, I'd like to hear. Cheers!

I would try a small amount of Denatured Alchohol. It shouldnt damage the surface .Many Repair companies use it prior to Repainting and Repairing.Could be part of the Armor All Revolution..

I was thinking about the denatured alcohol. Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
