Rear seat back removal

Rear seat back removal

As a winter project I am going to have the seats in my 64 cutlass convertible redone. I'm removing the back seat and have the seat bottom removed. I have removed the screws on the seat back but it does not want to come off . Is it attached somewhere else ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are 2 or 3 hooks near the top of the steel support the upper cushion rests against, the frame needs to be pushed straight up (maybe slight pressure rearward at the top to help release from the hooks) and it comes up and out.

you will probably need to remove the armrests to get it out, but i'm not 100% positive

Check for one or two screws at the top installed from back to front.

Just push in and up and it will release from the 2 mounting tabs on the back. You don't need to remove the armrests. Just some even pressure and it will come out.

Got the seat our thanks to the responses on this forum. Sadly no rare coins or any other treasures . I was hoping to find the build sheet.
