pricing swings between vendors

Is Legendary Interiors the best, I find a lot of thier OLDS products much higher in price then the competition. For example PU1 has 71/2 Cutlass seat foam for $142 while Legendary is at $232 (...it's just cut out foam for god sake). I'm leaning towards purchasing my complete interior from Legendary based on feedback from this site, although I'm hesitating on some items...is it recommended not to mix and match?

Across the board over the years, PUI has received many more negative comments than Legendary. Issues like color, fit, factory correctness, uniformity in construction, material type and thickness, etc. However some members have had no issues with PUI. I heard only two negative issues about Legendary, and I know one was remedied by them directly. They work out issues with their customers - they served me well!
So if you want only the best soft trim, go with Legendary.

As for foam, thier price IS excessive. There are many different grades of foam, but still - even the best is not that much!
If you have foam that is still intact and in good shape (just saggy), you might be able to have them semi-replicated by the Foam Factory http://www.foambymail.com/ for a much better price, then do the final trimming yourself.

This shape is about right for the bottom of a bucket - http://www.foambymail.com/Merchant2/...=19&shape_id=5
The denser, longer lasting "high quality" foam would be my choice (with dacron wrap). A price of around 20 bucks each is very appealing...

Is Legendary still offering their XMas sale prices? If so (it was 20% or 30%) you should be able to get within 10% of Year One or Fusicks pricing for PUI. If not call them and ask them to match the PUI price. They won't come all the way down to the competitor's price but they come close. That's what I did when I ordered my interior. The salesman I ordered mine from was Scott Karge.
