I have some pretty nice original dash pads which are still pretty pliable, but, seem like they're starting to get brittle.
Does any one know of a product that will soften the vinyl cover to prevent brittleness while they're still pliable?
I know many will recommend silicone products like Armorall, but I've read that,
long term, silicone is actually destructive to vinyl.

X2 for Vinylex. Before there was Armorall...A looong time ago...we would use Pledge furniture polish in the spray can. That stuff works very well, leaves a clean, fresh, lemon scent lol and is not greasy. I still use it sometimes, but don't think it's the same formula. Anything like Armorall is not good. I remember when that crap 1st came out, I used it on my tires and thought ...wow...that looks great and it's so EASY. A year later, my tires started cracking!!! Before that we would use some stuff in a can like black shoe polish. GREAT stuff, you can't buy it now.......

I've been using it for 25 or more years on my 67 and it works great. I also use the product on my tires and it lasts for about a year even with washing the tires. It will not attract the black/brown film on the white wall. I have a good supply if someone wants to purchase.

Just need to figure out which is best.
I, too, have used Pledge in the past and was happy with it.
Just didn't know if it had any preservative value.
