Smile Dash

Why do you want to remove the padded dash?? The book reads (pg 15-4) Disconnect cable from wiper motor...Disconnect hoses from control...Using a small screw driver, pry **** from control...Remove nut from control, then remove control from rear of instrument panel...And then reverse I tried to pry the **** from mine and it wouldn't budge leaks a little but wipers work great, mine has a padded dash also Remove glove box first, then remove radio...makes it a hell of a lot easier....pull radio fuse first so your hair won't light up !!! Please get a chassis manual

Thanks Yellostatue: As to the paded dash removal, lots of rattles behind dash curve. I think the metal plate came loose below the clock. Not very eager to explore with a screw drive. Looks as if no has been that far forward since 1957.
Thanks for the assist.
