New carpeting

Hi Folks
Well its mid March and time to get ordering! Im looking at new carpeting for my 73C/S black looped. My Question who to get it from? I was thinking Fusick or Jeggs. They look about the same, or is there someone better?
Any help is Always appreciated!!!

It is all made by ACC in Alabama and drop shipped to you . Buy it from the cheapest vendor.

gmo1973, I'll be doing the same thing here shortly... Agree with looking around for best price but include looking at Rock Auto, each time I've priced ACC carpet they seem to be the best. (And usually you can find a discount code for Rock Auto here in the forum)

The jute backing isn’t as thick as the original, if your original jute backing is in good shape I would try to reuse it.

Here's a supplier I've used before for seat covers. They sell carpet too. I'm not sure if they get their carpet from ACC.

Are you doing a concours restoration on your Oldsmobile?

New Carpet

Hi folks .Thank you for the response. It does look like it all comes from ACC
I am not doing a concourse resto but what I don't want for it to look like replacement carpet.
Also i am going to try and get my 6-way power bench fixed..I had it tested last summer and the front tilt is done.
Anything else I should be doing while the carpet is out?

Inspect for corrosion and consider sound proofing.

I purchased carpeting for my old cars from this site. Very pleased. Most recently, in 2023, I bought carpeting for my '73 Delta 88.

Here's a few photos of the new carpet after installation.

I can recommend the undeylayment products from Dynamat. I used their Dynamat sticky rubber/aluminum backing product for sound deadening on a cleaned floor pan, and they have another foam product, maybe called Dynaliner, on top which serves as a cushion and probably reduces heat & noise yet more.

The products work, but are not as cheap as other alternatives.

Cheers
Chris

ACC from Rock Auto - ACC makes a 'heavy mass backing' carpet version which is much nicer than the stock offering - you can feel the weight difference and it noticeably quiets the interior down. If they have it for your CS model, definitely one you should consider.

All good. I just like closed cell foam better than sponge-absorbent jute.
