How to adjust glovebox door

My glovebox door is very loose and will occasionally pop open when I hit a bump. How do I tighten it up? It’s a 1970 Cutlass Sports Coupe.

If you put your fingers on the **** on the outside of the door, does the locking mechanism shake or rattle? If so, the nut under it is likely loose. I just did a write up on the glovebox door install in my resto thread. Short answer is that you'll need to pull the locking mechanism, tighten the nut, and then reinstall the locking mechanism. If you follow the instructions, it's not a bad project. Good luck!

Is the door itself adjusted and aligned properly? All the gaps even/correct? The door is adjustable In/out and left/right, and needs to be centered. I'm not sure about the '70 model, but the '68 also has adjustment available at the plastic "catch" mounted to the upper inside of the glove box.
