Finding Window Seal?

I have a '70 Cutlass. I've replaced almost every single piece of molding or rubber on the car because of it's age. During the restoration, I wanted to replace the rear quarter window seals but I ran into a problem. FYI - It's a convertible. Anyways, I can find the window seals but the rubber "U" channel that attaches the chrome to the actual glass window is another story. Anybody know where I can get a replacement rubber to attach the metal to the window? Should be the same for a lot of GM A-Body cars. I called Softseal, the major player in rubber for restoration and they didn't know.

Most commercial auto glass shops should have this. The rubber strip is put in the channel, then after the glass is put in, the rubber trimmed.

It's called "window setting tape" or "glass setting tape" and any auto glass shop has it. If you Google one of those terms, you'll find many, many vendors.

Try calling Tamraz in Chicago if you haven't found them yet. Or call Soffseal back and get a different sales guy to help you. I just called them twice to solve a top seal problem. First guy transferred me to voicemail when he couldn't answer my question. Jerk.

Thanks for all the help guys, I'm gonna try Tamraz on ebay. Anybody know the size I need? Looks like these things come in several thicknesses. Softseal folks sounded like morons when I called.
