Hi, has anyone tried spraying a dash pad in place? Obviously doing a good job masking everything you don’t want to get paint on especially the inside of the windshield lol. My dash has faded and there’s once small crack I can fix with filler and sand down. There’s a black vinyl spray available i’ve Used for other vinyl projects so i’m familiar with it. I’ve read through the steps on removing the dash on this forum and I know it’s a real headache. Just can’t work up the courage to dive into that. I can take things apart real good, getting them back together correctly not so much.

 

The issue is even if you mask it off you have to spray the paint evenly. its an odd angle.

 

Getting in to clean it enough may be an issue.

No experience spraying it in place but use SEM Landau Black paint and do several light coats to avoid runs. Another suggestion for better access maybe remove the windshield and reinstall after, gotta be easier then pulling the dash.

No matter what product you use to spray it you will have to ensure the dash is clean before spraying. It would be nearly impossible to clean the dash effectively without removing it or the windshield as others said. Think of all the vinyl spray that's been put on the dash in the past 35 + years.
