I found where you can buy the chrome bead trim for the face of the dash on a 71-72. It shows it comes with clips. How do you remove the old one and these clips? Does it have a glue strip on the back side to hold it down tight?

 

Some years use clips and some are glued all around. The clips simply push into the groove in the dash - they have ribs to hold them in place once pushed through the vinyl.

 

I replaced several clips on my dash trim a few years back and I recall the clips simply slide into the trim channel and then you move them into position along the trim to line them up with the dash holes.
