Could someone make Sticky for decoding
Could someone make Sticky for decoding
OK, I see tons of guys have asked what their trim, color and other codes mean. What publication has this info? I too want to confirm the colors of my car.
And would anyone who has this publication be interested in putting together a sticky that contains this info? It would make good sense to put one here.
Trying to find out what trim 948 is exactly, thanks.

You will find it in your assembly manual, usually in the front sections. For Oldsmobile, there is also a book, put out by Supercars Unlimited, titled '"442 By The Numbers" (see at www.supercarsunlimited.com) that also has some application to other "A" body cars.

In the assembly manuals for my '68 and '69 4-4-2s, I compared what I had with what is at www.wildaboutcars.com and found that wildaboutcars had more pages than I had in my OTC manuals. The great thing about WAC is that, if they have your assembly manual on record, you can go to that site and compare what you have with what they have. If they have additional pages, you can just down load and add those pages to your manual. I found that there were a few extra pages of interior codes and paint colors WAC had that would be for Cutlass and F85 models that weren't included in my OTC manuals. It's nice to have those extra pages to get a bigger picture of what was available.

Thanks a bunch, I got the 1965 Assembly manual and the 1964 Service manual from WAC. I'll continue to search for the 1964 trim code 948 as it is not list in the 1965 AM or the 1964 SM. Not a big deal, I'll find it sooner or later but it's great to have the 64 SM!
