Would never deal with BAP. Try Fusick or for the "Good stuff" (read as more costly), buy from Legendary auto interiors.

I am still waiting for the $4 door lock ferrules I ordered from bap 3 years ago. I called 4 times then and they always said they are on the way. Poor pigeon must have got shot down and roasted...

Not sure about Tamraz but Fusick is good place. Legendary is my preferred upholstery provider. Another 100 or 200 but wait for a sale or free shipping. Best repro soft trim i have seen.

Those ferrules would have been nice little collars for them for sure.
Grasshoppers must of caught up with them, hitched up their little plows to the collars and forced them into snail labor on their farms. Later they were prolly turned into escargot...

OR..... the snail broke down halfway and they had to send a snail tow truck to repair it, then the tow truck snail forgot the tool so had to turn back around lol

If you don't really care about "originality" you can get generic interior kits from Kanter Auto Parts.

Legendary offers unassembled and pre-asembled door panels. I'd hate to fork out ~ $300 for unassembled panels only to do a hack job while incorporating the window sweeps, door lock ferrules, and trim myself. Is it difficult/simple to do the assembly yourself? Replies based on experience are most appreciated . Thanks

It take a bit of effort, but results will depend on your skillset.
Take a look at the last or next to last page of my "interior makeover" thread and see how I did it. Attaching the top rail is the hardest.
It might be better to pay some extra to get the assembled ones.

I'm sure I'm subscribed to that thread. I'll run threw those posts again.

Legendary bumped their prices up from last year (per my 2009 catalog). It will take about $380 (includes shipping) for pre-assembled front door panels.

I went all Legendary in mine, upholstery and door panels. Couldn't be more pleased with the quality and service. It will take a few weeks, mine took 7, to get them because they are made to order.

I opted for the assembled door panels, more money but they are right.

Covered the seats myself. Not hard, just takes time and patience.

Most of the resellers (Tamraz, Fusick, OPGI, etc) sell PUI stuff. I don't have any experience with PUI.

BAP - avoid at all costs

Tamraz - has a spotty reputation

Year One - shipping is too high

OPGI - worst customer service ever

Fusicks - A++++++++

Inline Tube - Lots of parts not found elsewhere

Parts Place - Good so far

Supercars - Good

Mondello - really bad

Dick Miller - first name says it all

OPP - no experience

I bought Tamraz about 17 years ago. It is showing a little age but has held up well.

I have bought two lots of BAP, including an upholstery kit, with no problems at all and with very good service and pricing.

I have also used the Parts Place and they were very good also.

You must not had an issue with any of the parts you got from them, which is good.

They put on good arguments for every problem a customer has, much like the Monty Python "Dead parrot" skit.
"He is not dead - he's resting!!"

See my power window conversion thread for some of the PP drama...

Just about spot on with me, I've purchased from all above (except DM), I will add Yearone has a great return policy, and I have never had an issue with Parts Place.

The real acid test for any company is how they respond WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG.

I have been restoring cars since the early 1980's, and have purchased thousands of dollars in parts.

So, I have made multiple purchases from most of the suppliers.

Other folks that are good to deal with:

Brian Trick

Steve Minore

Paul Toller

Ken Reese

They even gave me free shipping on an item because they forgot to mention that I needed it with my original purchase.
