Any tips for installing front seat belt bolts

Does anyone have tips for how to tighten front seat belt bolts with the decorative covers in place ?

The cover has a stirrup for the bolt, but when cover is on place, seems impossible to get wrench on bolthead.

During disassembly, i managed to somehow get a wrench under the cover without destroying the cover. But surely there’s some sort of trick to bolting these back on. I’m trying to visualize how assembly line workers may have done it. Seemed a conundrum.

Answered my own question: Use a ratchet wrench…preferably offset.

takes some doin’ to get on the bolt. The bolt cover is some mightly durable stuff. 53 years old and still pliable and tough.

Don't know for certain about the '69, but the '70 has a snap on the backside of that vinyl bolt cover which allows the cover to be folded back to get at the bolt head.

Make certain the hole is clear of any carpet strings and old sealer. Use anti-seize on the bolt. When torqued, apply black calk around bolt on the bottom of the car. I use 3M 08578 Strip Calk (calk is correct spelling). Hundred of uses for this type calk on a classic car.
