Adhesive for headliner and interior panels

What adhesive is good to use for gluing the headliner and rear side panels? I've just torn the old interior out of my car and want to replace the headliner and vinyl on the rear armrest panels. Also want to know if anyone has some good tips for applying the vinyl so it stays tight. Thanks for any help you can provide.

3M Super weatherstrip adhesive for the headliner edges.
To adhere vinyl or carpet to a panel I use plain old contact cement. Don't use any tape on the face of carpeting to hold it until the glue dries or for whatever reason because it pulls the loops out of the backing when you remove it. Only tie up rolls with string or twine to store or transport it.

I used these instructions to do my headliner and it worked out great.
Thanks Team Chebelle.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info Bluevista! I read through the long post and feel confident to tackle this project on my own. Looks like I will be busy this weekend installing the headliner. I always like to do as much as I can since that's what makes these cars so great to own. Thanks again.
