3M Super Black Weatherstrip Adhesive

1. How many tubes of these 5oz sizes would I need to do a complete weatherstrip on a 69 Cutlass S trunk?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRM-8008/

2. What would be the recommended product to remove the adhesive that's already there beforehand?

Thank You for any assistance.

Perfect...thank you. Missed that one when I searched. How many tubes did you use when replacing the weatherstrip on the trunk?

I used less than half a tube - you do not use as much as you think.

Goo gone gets rid of freshly almost dry new adhesive. Wood or plstic scrapers remove the old ancient stuff.

I did both my doors, and trunk and have a bunch left over to do the roof rail.

I did not use any on the trunk, a little on the doors most at the ends, and on the ends of the roof rails by the door hinges no were else.

The channel doesn't have to be perfectly clean as long as "chunks" are removed. Use the adhesive "sparingly" meaning coat the channel bottom more or less. One tube should do all the weatherstripping on the car.
