72 Cutlass Sport Steering Wheel Colour

Hi,

I'm thinking of changing to the sport steering wheel in my 72 Cutlass S, my car has the Saddle interior and I have seen both a saddle & black wheel in cars my colour, how do I know what would be correct ? Or could they have come from the factory with either colour ?

Same for my coat hooks, I see some that are saddle & some are black ?

Any thoughts ??

For 1972 it would have had a black wheel with saddle colored horn button and hub. Also, there would be no big stitching running into the spokes. The saddle colored wheels which would all have the big stitching was used on Starfires and are a slightly smaller diameter. There are also other colors including black with the big stitching and smaller diameter, so if your surfing ebay watch for the difference. John

I think the '73-'77 Cutlass models also had a saddle colored 4-spoke available. And, if my memory is correct (I'm not real well versed on those years) it is the larger diameter. I have the same interior in my '72 and I was contemplating using one of those wheels---and I still may.
