does anyone know if only the window guide is available? I do not need the whole assembly, I have attached a picture as an example, all I need is the U shaped bracket/bushing the is secured with the 2 nuts on the long rod.
Been tying to find one but only the whole assembly seems to be available.
Thanks
My mistake folks,
What I need is this whole piece, the rod (not shown) is the pat I do not need. Or - just the upper and lower guide bushings/sleeves. Anyway, help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Window parts are surprisingly difficult to find. I had slightly better luck by looking for Chevelle parts at the Chevelle suppliers (ss396, eckler's, etc). The Chevelle and Cutlass 2 door stuff is identical - for the doors! The rear windows are different.

Are you looking for new/repop parts or used parts? I have gutted some doors recently from a Texas car and have these parts in good condition. Are you needing both sides or just the RH side?
I'm curious. What is worn out on your parts? There are only 2 plastic guides that could be affected by excessive use and neither part carries any significant weight or load, they just guide the glass up & down.
In theory, yes. But those guides on the bars will take all the abuse if there's any sticking, grinding or movement issues anywhere in the mechanism. And since it's just one bar, it's easy for things to go poorly. All of mine have pronounced wear marks, but enough grease and prayers makes them work pretty good. I can't remember how many times as a kid I just threw my whole shoulder into the crank to get it to move.
OP: fall-back would be to make new bushings out of cutting board plastic. Sure, it's a bit redneck, but that plastic is extremely slick and about the right thickness.
The bushings definitely are worn, I have had the cay almost 25 years, 2nd owner. When you roll up the LH window about 1/2 way - grab the glass there is moderate lateral movement. With the door panel off you can clearly determine the movement is caused from too much clearance between the bushings and the guide rod. Also. I compared to RH as a test, nearly zero movement. All other guides, rollers, bushings, weatherstripping etc have been replaced - would rather not spend $160 on an entire guide assembly if I can simply just purchase the bushings. I seem to remember looking Thru a restoration parts website and seeing these some time ago and they where out of stock. Now I can't find them anywhere and was hoping someone can point me in right direction.
Thanks everyone for your input
These mount on the door glass plate and the round metal rod goes through the hole to hold it in place. These are all plastic like the ones found in later models.
This will do 2 doors.
