Outer window Qtr window sweeps

ok. I need some help here. What the heck are these little black tabs at the back of the outer window sweeps? Should they latch on to something? I’m a bit confused.

Huh. On mine (Supreme hard top) they curved around the end of the felt to dress that end. It was on the front to cover the exposed end when the door was open.
