71 Convertible rear seat courtesy lights

Does anyone know of the lens on the rear seat courtesy lights just pry out or is it necessary to remove the rear seat and the side panel to get to the bulb to replace it ?

I recently swapped out the bulbs and had to remove the seat and side panel as the receptacle seemed to clamp on the bulb disallowing it to be pulled out from the front. That said, I would first try to access and remove the bulbs while the interior is in place.

The lenses have 4 tiny tabs stabilizing them in the bezel. 2 on top and 2 on bottom. If they are not brittle from age, the lenses can be pried out by applying light pressure near the tabs. Once out you probably know the drill of pushing the bulb inward and turning to release it.

Thanks - the lens came out really easily.
The bulb I took out was a #68 , not easily found , Can another bulb be used for the rear seat courtesy light ?
Thanks

I would check your local NAPA store.

Going from memory, but I believe the correct bulb is the #90 per the Chassis manual. I recently bought a 2 pack from 0'Reilly Auto Parts for around $6.
