I have all the buckles for my 442 but need to track down the male side for both front seats. Mine had the black buckles. Are retractor style only for silver buckles or were they in all cars?

 

All the 1968's I've seen had the retractors. I'm pretty sure yours did too regardless of which buckles it came with.

Ok so do the smaller looking silver buckles use the same male part or is it different (smaller)?

 

there are brushed metal buckles and there are the "deluxe" buckles (brushed metal as well) which are narrower. Those smaller female belts tended to be used on bucket seat cars, front only lap belts. They use a narrow male end retractor as well.
