68 Cutlass interior into 71/72 Cutlass?

I know the 68 had a shorter floor console than the 71/72, but would it be a direct bolt-in if you could live with it not being original style?

Likewise, would the bucket seats, rails, and brackets from a 68 Cutlass be a direct bolt-in replacement for a 71/72 Cutlass with a bench seat? I imagine some drilling may be involved, but it should otherwise fit, correct? I understand the styling and seatback tilt would be different between the years.

Thanks

I think you could swap the bucket seats, but I'm not sure the floorboard would be similar enough for the console. I know the door panels are too different. John

P.S. rather than drill you can get repop bucket seat studs attached to a strap that can be welded onto the floorboard. That's what the factory used for the inboard seat bolts on each bucket.

The buckets can be swapped but they won't be the correct style for 72 if you can live with that. I don't know why the floor console can't be swapped into a 72. Goodmark Replacement floor panels from 68-72 A body are the same for Olds, Chev, Pontiac and Buick. X2 on welding the bucket mounts instead of drilling.

Console mounts are different on 67-69.
You would need the mounts for those years.
I belive there are two, one front, one rear.
These are welded in as well.

Are you going from column shift to floor shift? If so, the 67-69 consoles have the Neutral Safety switch in the console, not on the steering column. You would need to get/make a wiring harness to the wires in your dash. The 67-69 console DO NOT have the steering lock rods/hookup that the later ones did. The buckets will bolt in providing you install bucket seat brackets on you floor pans. The mounts are repro-ed and not a hard welding job.
