68-72 seat foam

Hello, I was under the assumption that all 68-72 bucket seats are the same except for the patterns. I have found a deal on some new not used seat foam for 68-70 seats, but have noticed in parts listings for PUI and Legendary that they have separate p/n's for 68-70, and 71-72. Does anyone know what the difference may be????? Thanks for any insight.

The differences are the notches/grooves cut into the foam to allow the upholstery to be secured. Depending on how the upholstery is sewn, there are listing wires that are pulled down into grooves in the foam and attached to the springs with hog rings. Obviously the foam you use needs to have the correct grooves for the year of upholstery you are installing over them. Note the differences in the grooves in the seatback foam.

Don't be tempted by cheap seat buns!!! THEY ARE JUNK. Anymore I will turn customers away who bring me the cheap stuff to install in their seats. Primary reasons being:
1. The won't be happy with the end result (way too stiff)
2. they are harder to work with and install

American Cushion Industries (ACI) are the buns you want.
Yes they cost more $$, but considering you will be putting your butt in them every single time you drive the car you will be glad you spent it where it matters.

Cheers!
Ben

Oh yeah, and joe is spot on, the difference in the PN's is different models have different listing channel configurations. You want to make sure you get the right one for your vehicle.
