1970 442 Convertible Interior Screw Questions
1970 442 Convertible Interior Screw Questions
Good Morning!
As I inherited this project, mostly in pieces.. I see that I'm missing a bunch of screws bolts nuts etc..
Would anyone know what is the best screw kit sold that would give me most of the interior screws?
Are the dash gauge screws hex head #8? maybe 1/2 inch long?
Are the 70 Power seats attached just by sitting the seats on those bolts that are in the floor and screwing nuts on them?
Would anyone have a picture of the 4 screws that attach the cluster dash bezel?
I also have a hood latch open closed slider that's mounted on the bottom on the dash that needs two screws.. Would anyone know what these look like?
Thanks!

There are some repro vendors that should sell a interior screw "kit"....a bunch of separate NUMBERED small ziploc bags w/various fasteners in them + a list showing what each bag/fastener is used for.
I'm looking at the newest Ames Performance (Pontiac vendor but lots of their stuff also works for Olds, etc)...they list a 1970 Interior Screw Kit, 118 pieces, Convertible - PN A510 for $45.
They also show Master Interior Hardware Kits for a lot more $.....$205. What the exact difference is I don't know but this kit obviously contains a lot more hardware.
I have used the lower priced kit on a '70 convertible and it was great to have.....probably worth buying.
>The hood lock housing under the dash....those used two #8 screws (1/2" thread length would work)- hex washer style screws that use a 1/4" socket to attach them.
>The upper "chrome"/woodgrain dash bezel is held in w/4 countersunk (called "oval" style) head style black philips head screws. As you mention, #8 size and at most 1/2" thread length.
