The PO went to town with a can of flat and gloss black and I can't tell what color the gauge bezels were. They were built chrome but a lot of times things were chrome then painted and wiped off to give a chrome accent and I'm wondering if this is the case here.

 

The gauge bezels were black plastic with the outer visible ring a sort of "chrome" finish that can be re-done with a silver-colored Sharpie pen.
