1968 Cutlass center console question

Currently have a Hurst Quarter stick as my th350 shifter. I would really like the arm rest/console in between my buckets ( car came with a bench). I have a line on a decent console. Having not seen one in person I am wondering if it would be at all doable, and look nice, to somehow use the Hurst in the console. Thoughts?
Thanks!

Sounds like your gonna be hacking up a good console to me, why not just use the auto shifter like it was meant to be

As mentioned, I would like a center console/armrest and have found nothing I like aftermarket. Thinking maybe some kind of rubber shifter boot to hide what I would need to "hack" as you put it......

There's a pic in there about needing a small relief for the lever on a 65 era console.

Dual gates fit and are accepted by the people if you want to go that way.
