Was that even an option in 67? I thought it came out in 68

Yes, my owners manual shows one but you cannot see where it is installed.

The 1967 Chassis Service Manual has a couple drawings that should help. If you plan to work on your car I'd strongly recommend you get one of these. They're on ebay often. But if you need help with this right now I can try getting a copy of these drawings to you. Let me know.

Actually I don't see a 1967 on ebay right now, but here's a 1968 to give you an idea what I'm describing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-...9c7a%2522%257D

Actually, most of the 60's and 70's body service manuals are available at Fusick Automotive
B67RM 1967 Shop Service Manual 70.00
FBM67 1967 Fisher Body Manual 39.50
OM67A 1967 Cutlass/442 Owner’s Manual 20.00
B67AM 1967 Cutlass Assembly Manual 29.50

here's the link if you need it: http://www.fusick.com/catalogdownload.htm

I'm guessing that your 8 track is integrated into the radio in the dash? Is there an 8 track door that opens as part of the faceplate?

Does it look like this?

If yes, check with Ed Skaff (67442nut) on this site. The pic is one he posted in Dec of 2010. He has 2 for sale and could probably give you info you need about the mounting or access

You can look at the manual at Wild About Cars Online afer you register.
More factory Olds info being uploaded there every day it seems, somebody's been busy?

http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/index.html

Best to have a hard copy though, tough to keep running to the PC to see what you forgot when you're standing on your head under the dash or sprawled out under the car holding a transmission up on your belly.
The tape player looks like it mounts near the left end of the lower section of the dash before it kicks up in front of the passenger's seat, is the radio in that section of the dash above it?
There may be some holes for the mounting bracket in that area.
I think I had to drill the front bracket mounting holes and the rear ones were already there in my Vista Cruiser.

8 track tape players are cool, all anybody looks at on my car.
It seems like everybody that sees mine at shows and cruises says the same thing, "Wow!, look!...an eight track tape player!....but does it work?"

I tell them of course it works, it plays two songs at the same time perfectly.

Does this do it?

(I had to attach it as a .jpg, but the .pdf is probably clearer).
