1966 Cutlass convertible door panel install.

I plan on opening up the door panels on my 66 Cutlass vert to lubricate required areas, install a new water shield and install new window crank handles. I have searched the forum, CSM and Fisher body manual and have not found an illustration that shows the installation of the circular tapered springs and plastic bushings behind the window crank. I need some help to install correctly. Also searched you-tube but found nothing specific to my car.
Thanks
Wayne

If memory serves, the spring goes between the door and the panel, with the plastic 'washer' goes between the panel and the crank. I had to leave the springs off of my car because of the splines in the crank not being deep enough.

So that said, the taper of the spring goes toward the window crank and the large end is at the back of the door panel. That sound logical. Unless any one has more, thanks for the help.

Just the opposite, the small end toward the door, big end toward the panel.

it needs to push the panel out not the handle. the spring should not come thru the panel unless the hole has been enlarged. my 65 has them too
