If I am right, they do not make replacements for these.
So, what is the best seat covers if I need to replace these. Iy has a cloth split bench in front and obviously bench in back. Not sure if a cutlass set will fit the front seat. It seems thicker than the vinyl bench. OR do I put a front of buckets up front (if so what are a reasonable set of aftermarket buckets that will easily bolt in? Jsut curious on options here. Eventually i will need door panels, etc but at least want to get front/back set going here soon.
Pictures would help.
But from your description…it’s a 3427 car, with a blue interior I gather?
While they don’t make off the shelf reproductions of these, you have two options.
1. Call SMS interiors and order the correct fabric. Then you can have your local upholstery shop re-create the pattern for you.
2. Just go to your upholstery shop, they’ll be able to source a nice blue factory-like Vinyl and have them re-create the seats using that
I know it sounds daunting, But most interior shops can do this rather easily.

Here’s an example of the SMS fabric in my interior.
So structually the seats are differernt than say a cutlass.or chelle.split.bench? Just trying to see if the pre-made cutlass/chevell type.covers will fit it.
I don't believe Olds had a red cloth "Split bench" in 1965.
You could get a split bench in 65 in the club coupe(3427) and the later half of the year in the sport coupe(3827).
But there was no red cloth on the split bench...all vinyl.
So you were right. They were red seat covers over the orignal black. They were very well done seat covers that looked like original (though very sun baked) SO I am going to remove them, try to freshen the old material up a bit and maybe just luck out and only need to recover the front seat or maybe even just the front backs.
