66 F85 rear bench seat differences?

Josh ordered an interior kit for his 66 F85 2 door, but since he could not find a kit for an F85, he ordered the kit for the Cutlass, thinking they should be the same dimensions, and that he would only need to go with a different pattern. Long story short, the front split bench looks great, but the rear pieces look to be about 6-8 inches too narrow (across the width of the car). The depth (front to back) looks to be about right.

So, the question is: Did we get the correct pieces, or is there a difference between Cutlass and F85 rear bench seats? Or, instead, we are wondering if the company made covers for the convertible by accident. Anyone have an approx width measure (aross the car) for their 66 Cutlass rear bench?

We are thinking maybe the rear bench and seat back for 'vert cars would be about 2-3 inches narrower on each side to account for the folding top brackets, and may be covered by a wider side panel than his F85. (the side panel on the F85 is simply vertical, with no arm rest, so the seat itself is essentially the same width as the inside of the car.) Anyone have a measurement for a 'vert rear bench?

Is this making any sense? We need to figure out if the company made the wrong cover, or if ordering Cutlass pieces for an F85 was a critical error.

If Josh reads this, he may jump in with other details.

Thanks for all your help.

Rear seats are different between F85/Cutlass. Cutlass have narrower seats due to their integrated armrest/ashtray/trim pad. I don't know of anyone making F85 rear seat kits.

It's a lot of aggravation, but if you can find some more matching material, a trim shop can add the extra width you need. They may find it easier to make a whole new cover from scratch, as long as they have a pattern to go by.

OK, so if the F85 seat is wider than the Cutlass because it does not have an integrated armrest, then I guess we need to start looking for a 2 door Cutlass seat and side panels, since that is what the new upholstery is supposed to fit. How hard is it to find these side panels that have the integrated armrest?

Can you think of any reason why switching to a Cutlass rear seat and side panels would not work, or be an easy switch?

And the next obvious question: Does anyone have one they want to sell? I need to go look in the For Sale section.
