Can someone please tell me if both 1968 & 1969 Hurst / Olds' use the neutral safety switch mounted on the Hurst Dual Gate Shifter? I see the N.S. switch available aftermarket, but they list '68 only, not '69. I believe that the shifters are the same for both years. Thanks, Bob

 

Great question that I wish I had an answer for. My 69 parts book predates the 69 H/O production and so is no help, and my 75 parts book doesn't show a listing for a NS switch for a 69 H/O at all. I hope someon else knows this answer.

 

I came across this neutral safety switch on eBay for $49.00 for a '68 Hurst / Olds. This is the same switch O.P.G.I. gets $75 plus $15 shipping for. I bought one just to have in stock.

Thanks. I bought an NOS one on ebay a couple years ago for 20 bucks. The seller didn't know what it was for, and no one checked the Part number he listed, I guess! I was the only bidder.

 

68 and 69 both use the same neutral safety switch. I've heard that the early Pontiacs may have used the same one.
