intake's
Back in the day a lot of the 69's had the cast iron manifold dumped early on. I've got a copy of a document from Hurst from back in the day I got from one of the long time 69 H/O guys on here that talks about other performance mods they recommended back then. If I remember, it had an intake swap in it. PM me your email address and I will dig it out and send it to you.
69 H/Os have the same problem as the 70-72 O.A.I. cars - if you plan to keep the stock air cleaner and O.A.I. adapter, a taller intake may cause hood clearance problems.
If your running a stock 400 or a 455 Olds motor, I'd consider sticking with a dual plane intake. I've been down that road twice before only to be let down because of the loss of low end torque. If you've had head work etc. thats a different story. I had a torker on a 68 W30 with the hoses and it fit fine the best I can recall. We also installed one on a 69 442 and lost a tenth or two at the track. In both cases it there was a noticable loss of low end power.
Have you had your car at the no. st. paul show? if so what color is it?
Dave
No i have not had it at north st paul I just picked it up. When I get some time and to figure out how to put up some photo's the motor is not running so that is why im looking for combo's I will not get it running till next year unless I drop cheap runner in it for short time??? I would even put a olds 350 for temp set up if a could find a cheap one should bolt up.
