Opinions please.

I saw this on the local craigslist and I know we have a lot of '69 owners that could comment. Was just wondering about the "restoration" comment since it has a "corvette" transmission and that it has a '70 OAI hood.

Huh,

That's a bit of a strange one. The hood alone would cost more than the repo H/O scoops.

If I were going to do a "Tribute Car" [which I was a one time] I would have done it like the real ones w/o the correct hood, scoops, and left off the 4 speed transmixer and the cheapo steering wheel. But to each his own.

IMHO it's a good looki'in car.

Seems like he spent more money than doing it correctly.

Pretty funny reading actually:
if you find a real Hurst Olds in this condition you will pay well into the six figure range
Obviously watching too much BJ.

Corvette 4-speed with Hurst Shifter
Yeah, obviously familiar with 4-speed H/Os........and Corvettes.

Deluxe Bucket Seat Interior
Rare H/O option

Twin-Inlet Fresh Air Induction Hood Scoops this is a 1970 Hurst Hood
Ah yes, the '70 H/O, even rarer! I didn't even notice that!

own at piece of History
Tributes are a piece of history?

it will be the only one there
That's for sure!

restored so nice that it is hard to tell it is not the real thing
Yup! Especially with that '70 Hurst Olds hood!......and the stick coming up out of that Corvette transmission!!

As far as I can see, the only items related to a 1969 H/O tribute on that car are some of the striping layout and the addition of the rear spoiler. oh, and the base color of the car is presumably cameo white I guess...

lay out one with a h/o hood treatment one with out both looked nice If you have a nice s car or a f 85 leave it dress it as you may but Having a 66 lemans and hearing how I should clone it to a 66 gto I like how I have one of very few lemans among the 66 gto clones at most cruise night's

I used to have a cat that paid me tribute by leaving a dead critter by the back door for me every day.
Is the Octomon paying tribute to Angleina Jolie by having plastic surgery to make herself look like her?
Are drag queens paying tribute to Marilyn Monroe by imitating her?
Tributes and clones are just another way of saying you can't afford the real thing.

Thats why I dont wear a watch . To easy to spot a fake rolex too . I still think a very clean F85 or s car or a very loved wagon is as cooler than a cloned w-30 or what not I jmo

Thanks guys. I don't have much experience with the HO's and was thinking that was another tribute car but wasn't sure. I thought I could spot the hype in the guys description though and that is what turned on the red light in my brain.
