Day comes out to be what, March 5? That sounds about right. Very early H/O production started third or second to last week of March (03C or 03D) or something like that. Conversions at Demmer started around March 31st I think? If it's car 114, it is likely a mid April build/conversion. But who knows. If it's a Demmer 114, it could be anywhere in the VIN sequence. Demmer numbering didn't follow VIN sequences too closely.

Does it still have the big *** weights on the distributor? It's the right one, rare as hell. If the vacuum can works, but I doubt it, that would be great. A workable one is a very tough one to find.

 

After looking at the the cleaned up # it is the correct carb. and the date code looks correct too.

It seems the '69 H/O's car number is a little different as well. These carbs were listed as Rochester QJ's, number 7029251. It is date coded 0649. Assembly plant code RJ. P> HOWEVER, he said that some other H/O kinda guy said that all the cars built in April and May had only the 29251 number, without the "70" in front. Puzzling. I personally have never heard of this one. The cars were built from the last week of March (03D) to the last week of May (05E). So that would mean that 99% of all the 69 H/O's would have this 29251 number if this were true. Mine was built the last week of March, and when I purchased mine, it had a 7029251 number on the carb. I realize it could have been replaced, but all the H/O literature I can find references the "70" type number. Even the GM parts books. Hmmmm....

I take offense to your comment that nobody made any serious offers. I just bought a carb that was off a 69 H/O for $127.00 I offered you $150 both carbs need to be rebuilt. Was your carb something super special forgive me if it was. Also Octania told you that the wheels were worth several hundred I offered you $750 for them again forgive me for not understanding that several hundred really meant several thousand. What anything is worth is what someone is willing to pay. I'm glad that you found a H/O shell so you can throw your parts in and on it. That way you can get your $250,000 for it ( better gold plate it first).
