Q-jet base gasket thickness?
My 1969 F-85, 350 4bbl has a base gasket leak. I have always run a thick gasket, about 1/4 inch, but when I went to replace it, I only found the thin gaskets (1/16th inch?) which didn't work. My internet searches return mostly the thin gasket. Which is the correct gasket?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Cliffs High Performance uses thicker gaskets in their kits. You can also buy just the base gasket for $8 plus $5 shipping & handling, and it is .25 thick. Any of the thicker gaskets can help seal a carb with minor warping, and the thicker base gasket also help insulate from engine heat.

I typically buy the thick gasket at the local NAPA store.
