bench to bucket conversion

Hi guys, I'm converting a 70 convertable cutlass to buckets from a bench and was wondering if any of you guys had accurate measurements for bracket placement. I was searching threads earlier today and found a couple of different things but not a manual bucket placement. As usual any help is appreciated.

My understanding is one bolt lines up, the bracket go for the other three, which one lines up I'm not sure, but when you have that I think the brackets cover the bench holes

The outboard rear corner on both sides bolts to the same threaded hole in the floor as the bench seat.

I looked at the links posted and I like them! But I took some pictures just in case you wanted to compare them to your floor board. These floor board portions came out of a 1971 Cutlass Supreme, but should be the same floor pan as your car. I compared the drivers and passengersides and they look the same. All the photos were taken of the drivers side. I agree that you need to start with the outer rear mounting hole which is the same as the bench seat mount. Then work from there. Let me know if there's any views or measurements you still need. John

Drivers side rear of mounts, from bench hole to rear post of bucket bracket.

The next two photos are the front of the outer bucket mount to the rear where the bench seat hole is.

The next three are the outer front mount to the inner front mount.

These last pictures are to help locate the inner bucket seat strap. Note, that the width between the front two mounting points and the rear two mounting points are not the same! The seat rails have two holes at the rear.

Thanks for the advice and measurements with pictures. We got them laid out and welded early sat morning and they are the same as 2blu442's layout. We figured it out by using the rear outboard bolt hole from the bench seat and using the bucket seat as a model. By triangulating to check for square we were able to get them real nice. At this point we have the carpet back in and some of the rear panels, the rear seat, windlace, console, and buckets. Legendary hasn't sent the door or upper rears yet.
