I have a 71 cutlass with 350 rocket with 350 auto trans and a 71 rebuilt 455 long block with intake ready to go...... What can I use from small block ( water pump, flywheel , motor mounts , etc...) and what will I need to upgrade for the big block ..... the car has headers now , will they work with the big block or are the ports or bolt pattern on the header to small ?? thanks

 

Just as you listed, mounts, water pump, pulleys, alt. brkts, power steering pump and brkts and flexplate. the radiator also, if it is the 3 or 4 core rad. even if you have A/C all that stuff will bolt right on. The headers are different story. They will bolt to the heads but you will have clearence problems, because of the big block and small block deck height.

There are a number of threads here on this swap. It has been covered several times. You should probably replace the Turbo 350 since it will not hold up behind the 455.

It would be WAY more work than it's worth to try and modify the 350 headers because all of the tubes would need to be cut and lengthened. And some may need to be re-routed.

Just sell them and buy a set for a 455.
