350 olds small block......

Here's a question:

Is it possible to fit an 350 chevy block instead of a 350 oldblock in a vista cruiser? I've got a 1971 Vista Cruiser.

Yes it is possible but it requires alot of extra work. The trans is different along with moter mounts and hose routings and other things. It will be simpler to rebuild your 350 or just go get a 455.
If it were mine I would use it as an excuse to put a 455 in it. A 455 swap is even simplar than a 350 che*y swap.
PS you won't get much help for the che*y swap.

It's no big deal, but you will need all the brackets for it non of the Olds will work on it. You will need a Chevy transmission also. New Chevy engine mounts. The exhaust manifolds are different so your exhaust won't bolt up. You'll need to take it to a exhaust shop.

The harness is different, starter is on the wrong side so you have to move the battery........in short if you're looking to save money you won't with all that would need to be done to accomplish the swap.

From your location I'm thinking you may be having a hard time finding an Oldsmobile engine. John

Well that's exactly my problem..........

It's impossible to find an engine for my car.
The only block afforable is an 403 block, but that doesn't fit at all I think?????

Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm used to having a mopar (that's all the same)..........

In fact, no problems might be an understatement.

They are externally the same, everything from the 350 will bolt onto the 403.
