Heater Core - Oldsmobile Super 88 1964

Hello.
I have got with a car new heater core. New core thickness is 1.8" , old 2.50". How to install it? Original clamps are to short. Should I look for a different heater? My car doesn't have AC.

Do the IN & OUT pipes of the heater core fit in the air box on the firewall? If so, I wouldn't worry about the heater core thickness unless you're doing a concours restoration. In that case, have your OE brass heater core repaired.

Fab a new hold down clip or bracket.

Thank you all for the tips. I made a thick gasket, about 8mm thick, for the heater and modified the mounting. Everything is in place. The heater works perfectly.
