Heater Core Recommendation

Working on getting my Dad's car running again. A few battles with mice, reman q-jet(not an original car), ignition parts, fresh fuel...and she fired up. Unfortunately, the heater core is leaking.

Any recommendations for a made in the U.S.A. heater core ?

The only way you can get a made in the USA heater core is to have your OE one repaired. Or to buy a NOS one on eBay.

Summit Racing sells a all copper/brass replacement heater core. Possibly better than the lightweight aluminum cores now sold by most places.

If not real bad,a good radiator shop can fix it.

No matter what core you buy or if yours is fixed, pressure test it before installation.

I bet.

Lucky avoid the ones readily available at local parts stores. Went that route with my ride and it went bad at 10,000 miles meanwhile the original Harrison managed 110,000 and 50 years... Luckily, no pun intended I kept the Harrison when it was getting replaced. The weight savings is great but not worth it without the durability.

Thanks for the feedback gents. I pretty much knew the answer, but needed to confirm. I remember good radiator shops everywhere when I was a kid. No so much anymore.
