75 Hurst Olds - Spare Tire question

So, I FINALLY got a 1975 H/O coming and in looking at the pics, it's missing the jack. Found a jack for it, but I wonder how the spare is held in place. Is it the "usual" J bolt an large wing nut with the base to the jack holding the tire in place? I did see a pic of another vehicle with a different style of hold down for the spare. So, what's the "stock" way to hold that spare in place and did it have a Olds hub on it? Thanks in advance.

It is a J-bolt but it has a different wing nut on it. It has a handle on it that swivels if that makes any sense. I am sure you could use a regular wing nut.

Thanks, got any way to post a picture for me or email me a pic of what it looks like. Trying to keep it original as I can.

Correct 75 Tire/Jack Mount

Here is the correct mounting for a 75 Cutlass/Hurst. It is nothing like the one above. The tire is even in a different location. I took this picture of the decal inside the trunk of my 75 Hurst. Notice the retainer nut assembly that has the attached handle that actually swings from side to side.

Cool. I have never seen a handle like that before. Maybe they have been around but I have never seen one. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Although I didn't restore it, I have had me car almost three years. Glad to have you since there are not a lot of 75 Hurst cars on here. We are heading to the OCA Nationals on Thursday morning. I have never been to the nationals and the car has never been judged before.

By the way, that is a cool design too. Making the handle out of bent round stock means that you can hold it directly on axis with the end of the J jut and just spin the nut part with one hand easily, then when it gets tighter or the end of the J nut interferes with the handle part you can turn on a steeper angle and get some leverage on it. Cheap and efficient.
