1949 Olds 88 jack in the trunk?

Hi friends. I just acquired the missing tire “back” (typo! Meant to say tire JACK) for my 1949 Olds 88. Can anyone send a picture of what it looks like stored in the trunk? I’m not sure how it goes. Does it just kinda lay in there or was it supposed to Mount in the trunk in some way? I know it doesn’t much matter, but I’d like to arrange it as it would have been when new
thanks!

In the photo i can just see in the darkness the securing bolt on a hinge protruding thru the tire. There was a bracket and wheel nut that secured tire. The bracket was Z shaped to recess the wheel opening allowing just enough room to get the wheel nut on. The wheel nut had a RH thread.

Thanks for the reply. After reading your reply, i was little confused. That’s when I re-read my original post and found a BIG typo that changed everything! My post should have said that I was looking for pictures or advice on the tire JACK, not tire “BACK”. My fault!
I understand how the tire mounts in the trunk, but I’m not sure how the tire jack is suppose to be stored or secured in the trunk.
I’ll go back and edit my original post so it isn’t confusing to others. But thanks for answering what you thought was my question!
