Jack Stowage - 1955 Super 88
I can't seem to find anything with regards to how the jack is stored. Just bought a 1955 and it's missing the original jack and the spare is not bolted down. Any pictures or info is appreciated.

Spare stands in the well, the folding rod comes through one of the lug holes, or the jack base fits through register hole in spare tire rim and fastens the same way depending on year. There is a long nut with a tapered edge on one side same size as lug nuts to secure tire from flopping around. The nut has a coarse thread, not fine like lug nuts one assumes so the owner would not use this nut as a lug nut.
Jack stows to right of tire against inner fender. There is a clamp/bracket that attaches the assembly with the vertical stud see attached to floor. Rubber sleeve on jack stalk secures the tire iron. The same method used for many years on these cars from late 1949 on Fisher body cars.
You will find a modern fat radial does not fit in the well without deflating the tire. I have a 7.75 bias ply in one of my cars and it is a very snug fit.
Funny I can't find the trunk interior image for your car. This is for chevy, jack and spare stowage very close or the same:

Thank you, yes good call on the tire not fitting. The tire sits in the wheel but the bolt doesn't reach. I was thinking of rigging up some sort of extension on the bolt. This helps, funny I was running across the Chevy stuff too, looks exactly the same! Thanks again.
