Help before I screw up royally. Finally getting around to replacing AC components on my 69 Cutlass. Took pictures of the two lines at the rear of the Frigidaire Compressor to insure that I put them back correctly. ( Last year did the same to my 70 Cutlass and luckily to date did not charge ) I just compared my picture of the 69's orientation of lines to where I have them on the 70 and there switched !! Which is correct ?

Should the line with the high side service port be at the outer compressor port ( closer to fender ) or to the interior ( closer to the engine ) ?

As well please confirm that this service port I'm referring to is the high pressure side.

The line that runs from the POA valve to the compressor is the low pressure side. The line from the compressor to the muffler and then to the condenser is the high pressure side. The muffler (high pressure line) is bolted to the fender.

Thanks for your confirmation. As well I took the time to carefully look through the service manual and there was a diagram showing the suction port and discharge port on the rear of the compressor. All is resolved. I had the hoses wrongly oriented in my 70. Glad I didn't try to charge it! Always a pleasure getting your input.
