93 Cutlass stalling w no codes

Just bought a 93 Cutlass conv, 106,000 miles. Among other issues, mostly body electric, it stalls while coming to a stop. Not all the time but too often. Feathering the gas prevents this. No ck engine light so no codes. Can someone please point me in a direction. I'm a retired Mopar mechanic so tech speak will not confuse me. Maybe.
Thanks

Which engine do you have? 3.1T, 3.1M, or 3.4X

Since you can feather it to keep it running, would appear to be a fuel issue...
Fuel Filter, Fuel Pulse Dampener (located on fuel sender), Accumulator (located on fuel feed pipe, front of engine)... I don't think any of these will give you a code... If it was an injector issue, I believe there should be a misfire code... You might consider investing in a CSM, there is a lot of trouble shooting info in this manual - Vol 1 includes fuel related issues (2 manual set for W-Body Vol. 1 & 2)....

The OBD I systems have limited sensing capability, so the number of failures that set codes are also very limited. Look at potential failures that are mechanical in nature and thus will not set a code. Things like a dirty or sticking IAC, dirty or sticking EGR valve, vacuum leak, etc, etc. The CSM has a whole section on diagnosing driveabilty problems that don't set a code. This is where you need to understand how the systems work in detail to troubleshoot them.

Thanks for the advice. I've purchased a set of manuals and will start studying. One thing... The car sat for a while and the battery was weak. Are these cars effected by a low battery like the newer ones, can they loose their memory and have the relearn throttle position and driving habits. Will a new battery be helpful. Charging system seems ok.
Thanks again
